2020/21 õppeaastal töötab Tallinna Laagna Lasteaed-Põhikooliks kaks vabatahtlikku. Philo on pärit Prantsusmaalt ja Mara kodu on Saksamaal. Vabatahtlikud rikastavad meie koolielu läbi erinevate tegevuste.
My name is Philo and I come from France. I’m doing a 9 month volunteering project here in Laagna Lasteaed-Põhikool. I chose to work here because I wanted to do something useful.
I’ve always admired people working with children with special needs.
Having autistic people in my family, I know how hard it can be for them to access proper education and how a school like this one can change everything for them.
I really want to take advantage of my education, vulture and autistic background to share as much as I can with the children and of course, I want to learn with them and from them.
My name is Mara and I’m 18 years old. My hometown is in southern Germany. I will be volunteering in the Tallinna Laagna Lasteaed-Põhikool fot a 9 months.
Why did I chose this school?
In my past I had a lot of fun working with disabled people. My first internship was in a special school for mentally handicapped children. The work there filled me very much and I knew for the future I wanted to go in this direction.
Also during my school time I had more possibilities to use art and work with disabled people in a project. So I was able to combine two things that I like. We painted with watercolours and clay, mixed with art therapy.
When I saw Laagna school at the EstYes website, I immediately found it appropriate for me. I see many opportunities here that will help me to move forward in my life. I am curious to learn more about how to deal with disabled people and to get involvved with art, for example in a future project.
